of Sustainable Construction
As the Senior
Director of Sustainable Construction for the National Ready Mixed Concrete
Association, Dr. Ashley provides support in regards to sustainability standards
and promotes the use of green building rating systems. She also provides
technical support to NRMCA members and state affiliates regarding local building
codes and standards and promotes the adoption of statewide minimum building
codes. Dr. Ashley provides education and training programs for concrete
producers, contractors, engineers, and architects with a focus on building codes
and sustainability. She has written several articles on concrete and
sustainability and presented at many technical conferences. She is a member of
the International Code Council and serves on the Code Technology Committee.
Prior to joining NRMCA, Dr. Ashley worked in fire litigation consulting and fire
research. She was awarded the William Carey Award for her work on the Waking
Reliability of Emergency Alerting Systems. Dr. Ashley has a Doctoral Degree in
Reliability Engineering, a Master of Science Degree in Reliability Engineering,
and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Fire Protection Engineering from the
University of Maryland.
